What is Direct Pay Healthcare? Direct Healthcare is a bit of a return to what some call "old fashioned medicine", although we like to think of it as uniquely modern. It's a model that eliminates the reliance on insurance companies and allows for providers to give care on their own terms. We do not contract with any health insurance companies. By eliminating the middleman and bureaucratic red tape, we can spend more time with our patients. In a direct care practice, patients pay an upfront, reasonable price for their care directly to the provider - no surprises. Oh, and you don't need a referral because we don't need to rely on your insurance company to approve the visit!
Can I use my insurance? You can use your insurance for lab fees, imaging (radiology), pathologist fees, and prescriptions. Although we often offer some of these services for less than your insurance co-pay. If you have a government based insurance plan such as Medicare or Medicaid, currently we can't see you as a patient. Government polices are very strict, and our practice cannot charge a fee for any government covered services. We are working on expanding to Medicare patients soon, so stay tuned.
What if I need pathology or blood work? If you have commercial or government insurance, you can choose to use it for any bloodwork, pathology, or imaging. You are able to provide your insurance information directly to the lab. However, we have negotiated drastically discounted pricing with both Quest and Dahl Chase labs - some as much as 90% cheaper! This is often far more economical than submitting through your insurance company. Further proof that healthcare corporations and insurance companies often inflate prices!
Do you have telehealth appointments? Yes! You can self-schedule a telehealth visit for many types of initial evaluations or follow-ups. Things such as acne, rosacea, eczema, and rashes can all be addressed virtually. Changing or concerning lesions, or procedures would need to be seen in person.
